Covering interconnects takes up quite a large chunk of my time here at Electronic Products Magazine. While the majority of the connectors and sockets I see may be garden variety, me-too products, there is a great deal of innovation out there, if for no other reason than to keep up with the ever-changing trends in this dynamic industry.
The PowerModHP series power connector from Anderson Power Products (www.andersonpower.com) features touch-safe female housings, cable strain relief, and integral positive latches. Rated up to 450 A, the connector provides a minimum of 500 mating cycles and accommodates wire sizes from 6 to 4/0 AWG.
Featuring 8.5-mm terminal spacing, the OTB-351 through-panel modular power terminal block from Blockmaster (www.blockmaster.com) is rated 300 V at 20 A and comes in 2 to 15 positions. The terminal block accepts wire sizes from 22 to 12 AWG.
