| | Appliance maker Electrolux presented its second Fashion Award to Firma, a German clothing and design brand based in Berlin, at the Autumn/Winter 2006/2007 Salon du Pręt-?Porter Paris. Firma is a considered a relatively young brand that has a reputation for its precisely cut, feel-good fabrics, along with solid workmanship and functional details.
The runner-up was Italy's Tricot Chic, designers of collections for women who want to simultaneously express fun, femininity and practicality.
Awards were presented by Johan Bygge, CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances Europe and Asia Pacific, at a ceremony on the Salon’s catwalk, held Saturday February 4, 2006.
Experts from international fashion houses, including the Galeries Lafayette Berlin and Le Bon March?Paris made up the jury along with senior Electrolux design and marketing management. The jury selected the winning brand best reflecting the appliance company’s own design values.
The award ceremony showcased nine fashion brand nominees, all of which were pre-finalists in the competition: Sofie d’Hoore, Sylvia Heise, Firma, Mango, BNG, Tricot Chic, LM LULU, Philipp Plein, and Seyes.
“Competition has been very tight,?said Henrik Otto, Electrolux senior vice president of Global Design. “All nominees presented outstanding designs that shared many of our own values. Ultimately, the jury felt that the stylish and creative works of Firma best matched our own. We feel that the Firma collection would greatly appeal to our consumers.?/FONT> |
